TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • All members must present a valid Ignite Africa library card at the office to pick up books borrowed online. New members registered online must pick up Ignite Africa Library card at the Admin Office, using a valid Photo ID Card (Driver's License, Student School ID, or International Passport) upon the first visit to pick up borrowed book.
  • To ensure safety of the Ignite Africa Library books, members must have a form of guarantor before borrowed books can be released to them (Acceptable guarantors include: A fully refundable financial deposit of no less or more than N2500.00 for basic members, which would be fully refunded upon safe return of the book; or a guarantor who is a person well known to Ignite Africa Foundation)
  • Borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date. As long as an item is not overdue or required by another borrower, it may be renewed by contacting the Ignite Africa Library by telephone. High Demand books may be renewed for a maximum of 3 days; all other loans may be renewed for up to 10 days.
  • When requested by another borrower, books must be returned by the new due date shown on the recall notice. This date overrides the original due date.
  • Borrowing options are available for members who are physically unable to visit the Ignite library office. Please contact the office by phone for further information.
  • Advanced members can request a book Ignite Africa Library may not have in stock, and it will be made available to the member. A minimum of 4 weeks notice is required for this request.
  • All members must not cause any form of damage or loss of the books. Books must be returned in good condition, as was picked up, and on time.
  • A book that is claimed to have been returned by a borrower is marked as 'Claimed Return' in the borrower's record. If the book cannot be located in the library after searching for one month, the item will be considered lost and a replacement charge will be added to the borrower's record.
  • Fines may accrue for overdue book that was not renewed; hence, are added to a borrower's record when items are returned.
  • All members are solely responsible for the books borrowed, while in the possession of the member.
  • Ignite Africa reserves the right to terminate a borrowers membership for reason of misconduct, or unresolved misappropriation of Ignite Africa Library books.
